
CVFD Annual Installation Dinner
CVFD held it’s 89th Annual Installation Dinner at the Powelton Club in Newburgh on February 25th, 2023. Neighboring Departments, dignitaries and members were on hand to announce their newly elected officers and give out awards and accolades for accomplishments in 2022. President Jeff Miller gave out awards for “Years of Service” to deserving members who have served their communities for 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 35, 45, and 50 years of duty. Assemblyman Jonathan Jacobson was on hand to pass out Certificates of Achievement to Steve Williamson and George Leghorn marking their 50 years of service as well as Frank Wolf for getting “Firefighter of the Year” for 2022. Assemblyman Jacobson also showed his appreciation for volunteers in the community and his support for the recent tax exemption that he supported. Chief Rob Dorrmann passed out unit citations for exemplary actions on the fireground as well as “Green Cross” awards for those involved in rescues performed with Hurst Tool “Jaws of Life.” Chief Dorrmann and President Miller praised the Department for all their accomplishments both in the Department and in their personal lives. Many educational achievements were made, career changes made, and relationships entered into. A moment of silence was held for departed members who are no longer with us.

– 4 Structure Fires – 4 Rescue/EMS/Extrication
– 3 Cooking Fires – 6 CO Activation Alarms
– 2 Chimney/Oil Burner Fires – 51 Hazardous Conditions/ Weather related
– 8 Vehicle Fires – 172 Mutual Aid Calls to other Districts
– 8 Brush/Trash Fires – 29 Public Service or Investigations
