Daylight Saving Time 2019
This is a reminder to all that daylight saving time begins on Sunday, March 10th at 2 am. At that time clocks will go back an hour to 1 am. This may seem like a distraction to some, but it actually saves us all in electric and hours of outdoor activity!
Like always, we are also letting you know ahead of time so you can plan to replace old batteries in the older type smoke detectors that are still under 10 years old. Check the dates on the back and replace each detector if over 10 years old. Newer models have 10 year batteries installed, so test them to make sure they work and check the date!
It is also a good time to check your CO detectors. Most CO Detectors should be replaced after 5 years. So don’t wait for the low battery alarm to sound! Check those dates and make sure you and your families are protected. Check with your local fire inspector if you are unsure of where and how many you need to comply with current NYS Codes.
