
On Thin Ice…….
Cronomer Valley Dive Team responded to a report of a possible Ice Rescue in Tuxedo Fire District on Thursday, December 21st, 2018. At approximately 1230 Thursday for the Cronomer Valley Fire district was called call to a possible possible ice rescue along with the Monroe Fire district to Tuxedo Fire District where reports were there was footprints leading to hole in the ice. On scene Monroe Firefighters deployed their ice rescue sled to inspect holes which where iced over by 2 inches. The state police aviation unit was called in to give another vantage point Search was called off due to no reports of missing people and nothing to support an actual fall through the ice.

With very cold nights and then warm days, ice on lakes and moving water is too thin to go out on and the public should avoid these bodies of water until solid ice forms. As always, if you see something, say something if in doubt.
