Remembering Michael Grieco, Past Chief & Commissioner
The Cronomer Valley Fire District regrets to announce the passing of Michael Grieco on Friday, August 28, 2020. Our deepest sympathies go out to his wife Susan Grieco, daughters Lindsay, Haley and Mikayla, Sisters Dawn and Lori, and his extended family who have all been involved with the Cronomer Valley Fire Department throughout the last few decades. Mike joined the department in 1985 and worked his way up the ranks to become Fire Chief from 1999-2002. He then served as Fire Commissioner from 2002 until 2016. In addition to his dedicated service to the Fire Service, Mike ran the family’s third generation of Grieco’s Service Station on Mill Street in the City of Newburgh. He was a great friend to all and always willing to help those in need. Mike was a loving husband, father, and brother but his favorite pasttime was being a grandfather. It always seemed like he was related to half of Newburgh with his extended family of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles and in-laws! Mike was a good Christian and always stood up for what he felt was right. He will tremendously missed by all who knew him. May God Bless him and and watch over his family until they meet again.
His internment was handled by Brooks Funeral Home. Click here for details of visitation and services. Rest in peace Mike, we will take it from here. Thank you to all our neighboring departments who participated.
